David Ely, campus minister
David Ely is a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama but graduated from Auburn University (War Eagle!) where he met his wife, Mary Beth. They were married in 2006 and worked together at the Navigator Headquarters in Colorado Springs before going on staff themselves. After serving in college ministry at the University of South Carolina for two years (and where Mary Beth received her Masters degree in Higher Education & Student Affairs), David attended Covenant Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity. Upon graduation, he had the opportunity to serve for two years as an assistant pastor in Georgia. David is thrilled to be the RUF Campus Minister at Furman University. David and Mary Beth have three wonderful little girls that keep their days full and fun. When David isn’t ministering to college students, he loves to watch college football, spend time outside, read, and make spontaneous stops at historical markers and battlefields.
You can reach David at 706.524.3571 or firstname.lastname@example.org. He would also love to be your friend on Facebook.
Caroline and Josh Adams, interns
Caroline and Josh are excited to be interns with RUF at Furman! Josh grew up in Chattanooga, TN and Caroline grew up in Nashville, TN. They met in RUF while undergrads at University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. Sharing the gospel with college students has been on their heart from early on in their college careers. Josh felt a calling to vocational ministry in his second semester freshman year, and pursued this with the guidance of his campus minister and interns. His college years were very formative for his faith, and he wants to share the message of grace and forgiveness that is the gospel with the students at Furman. Caroline has worked with both middle school and high school aged students in youth groups throughout her time as an undergrad. She is excited to spend time caring for the girls at Furman, and sharing with them the encouragement that she found in the message of the gospel and the community of believers. They got married on June 13, 2014 and are still learning many things through the joys and struggles of marriage.
