David Ely, campus minister

David Ely is a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama but graduated from Auburn University (War Eagle!) where he met his wife, Mary Beth. They were married in 2006 and worked together at the Navigator Headquarters in Colorado Springs before going on staff themselves. After serving in college ministry at the University of South Carolina for two years (and where Mary Beth received her Masters degree in Higher Education & Student Affairs), David attended Covenant Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity. Upon graduation, he had the opportunity to serve for two years as an assistant pastor in Georgia. David is thrilled to be the RUF Campus Minister at Furman University. David and Mary Beth have three wonderful little girls that keep their days full and fun. When David isn’t ministering to college students, he loves to watch college football, spend time outside, read, and make spontaneous stops at historical markers and battlefields.

You can reach David at 706.524.3571 or  He would also love to be your friend on Facebook.

Kelsey Aylor, Intern

Kelsey was born and raised in Lawrenceville, GA and graduated from Wofford College with a degree in English, Spanish and Humanities. Kelsey has a love for reading, photography and hiking and she has a passion for music (as evidenced by the fact that one of her favorite pastimes is updating her Spotify playlists). At Wofford, RUF had a profound impact on Kelsey and her spiritual growth through the supportive and intimate community it provided her. She is excited to serve the ministry and help grow a strong Christian community at Furman, even after four years of rivalry between Furman and Wofford.
